Flu Shot Clinic Opportunities Question

I have seen several want ads online that want either lpn's or rn's to work in flu shot clinics.

Temporary thru Jan.

I am interested, but I believe there is no guaranteed amount of hours.

My question...have any of you did this and was it worthwhile ?

I did one that was about 2 and a half hours away. They paid 24.00 hour plus mileage reimbursemtn as it was more than 60 miles away and a 60.00 bonus. Added up to about 300.00 after i waited 2 and 1/2 weeks for a check.

I have been a RN for flu programs(immunization clinics) for the past three years and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. You do need to ask questions up front regarding pay for mileage and pay itself, yet giving flu shots can be breath of fresh air if you are a bedside nurse like I am. No two employers are alike. Hours are not guaranteed, yet if you are flexible with your hours you may find that you can get scheduled for more clinics. It's unfortunate that others may have had a bad experience.

I've done this several times and have found it to be generally enjoyable. One company paid very well, the others so-so. It is a good temp job for some income while you are trying to find something permanent.
