I have seen several people refer to Suzanne Gordon's book, Nursing Against the Odds, although I haven't read it yet her name caught my eye on Medscape. She published an excellent article titled "What Do Nurses Really Do?", in Topics in Advanced Practical Nursing eJournal, 2006;6.

I read it on Medscape.com, you have to register but it's free to do, plus lots of free CEUs available :) :balloons:

She presents history as to how nurses how been traditionally viewed, and why, and how we don't present ourselves as knowledgeable, but rather with all the warm fuzzy descriptions (my adjectives).

An excellent article indeed. Gordon sinply hits the nail on it's head.

I believe that's she's definately makes a valid point in the article.
