We will be implementing the Cerner computerized system into our hospital shortly. Almost everything will be done on the computer including charting, MARS, etc. Any opinions or comments from others who use this system at their hospital?

One of the systems where I worked included cerner, they have been around a long time. It saves alot of time, and they also had the scan for pt bracelets and medication bar codes.

We have been using computers for charting, scanning wristbands and meds, taking off orders etc. for about 5 yrs, it saves a lot of time, and once something is entered it cannot "get lost"!

We go up with Cerner in December, and hope to have the ER piece up by next Spring. My boss used it at another hospital and said it was great. She said it's very user friendly and (of course) drastically reduced errors in meds/treatments.Good luck!

We use Cerner for everything except meds and charting....but, that is about to change pretty soon I hear. In the near future, meds and charting will be included. So far, Cerner has been very easy and straight forward to use. Can't wait!

I have used Cerner in triage before and it was very user friendly.

If you ever hear of a program called Amelior, RUN to the nearest exit and do not let them use the system. It is the worst ever. We tried it for a month or so before it finally crashed leaving us with 52 patients in the ER, no back up, no paperwork, no nothing. We had to go room to room with inteligent questions like....UHHH, can you tell us your name? Why are you here? What have we done for you? Talk about bad nights!! They have supposedly improved it and keep threatening to bring it back. I hope I get enough notice so I can leave before it is back. Good luck with Cerner.
