Anyone watch Nurse Jackie?

For those not familiar with it, it's a series on Showtime. I realize many of you have time constraints and watching a series may be the least of your worries but does anyone here watch it?

I kind of like it although it's not very realistic in some aspects. In some it is.

I decided to re-watch the first episode tonight (online) instead of watching The Apprentice :) My exams are tuesday and saturday (Who puts finals on a long weekend I do not know)

Is there a particular reason why you like this show so much??

I started watching Dexter (someone got me addicted to the show) and when the season ended we still had showtime for free so I tried to find other shows. I wasn't going to watch any of the other ones and just started with Nurse Jackie. It's not that I like it so much but I got into it. I watched every episode so far (they're Ondemand) and I just find it interesting.

I agree with you though. Sleeping with the pharmacist on the job and snorting pills is NOT my idea of a nurse but noane's perfect and otherwise she's good at what she does. I also like that I get to watch actual nurses work for the most part. Learned some things too.

If I had to choose between mystery diagnosis and Nurse Jackie I'd pick mystery diagnosis though.

Hubby is getting tired of me watching health shows...lol :o

there was a one called "Mercy" that i really enjoyed.. it was based on Nurses for the most part. Not sure if it was just a Canadian show or anything.. Thought it was pretty good... But they stopped making episodes :( If you havent seen it you should check it out though because it was good!!! Michelle Trachtenburg plays a new grad all excited and pumped to be there for the first day.. I dunno it reminded me of ME :p haha

Awww... I'll try to google it.

Right now, I'm trying to retain any and all info that I can ahead of time *still doing prereq's* so I take it from anywhere.

Hehehe... sounds like fun!!! My program did not really require anything that you couldnt get in highschool. But I wish I would have done psych, Statistics, English prior to the program like most so I would not be stuck with 5 courses for 14 weeks and 3 days of clinical a week... BUT, I am finishing up 3rd year very very soon, and I go straight through summer, which is the semester starting in 2 weeks. Can say it goes by very very fast!

But I totally agree with you, live and breathe nursing lol. If I couldnt sleep I would read a text... if i wanted some relaxing time I would pop in old Greys Anat or ER. Now I can add Nurse Jackie to the list!!! And it looks like i have a couple seasons to catch up on! :D YAY!!

Watched it and it was so unrealistic that I couldn't stomach it. I thought they had advisers on technical stuff so they at least look like they know what they're doing............I like Scrubs; totally makes me laugh.

Sarah, my program requires prereqs like ENC1101, A&P, CHEM, MICRO, HPA (health careers), some other classes once accepted such as child abuses, first aid, hiv/aids, etc... I would have been done a long time ago had I done this straight out of highschool. I am 26 and just headed back to finish what I started. :rolleyes:

Watching Mercy now. Enjoy Nurse Jackie and STUDY lol

I like scrubs but they show nothing nursing related. It is funny though. More for dr's in my opinion.

Yeah I am 20 and I came out of highschool. Im in a 3 year fast track RN program that goes through summer. It is a full 120 credit Degree program, so its quite intense. My least favorite class is Statistics.. ughhh i hate it. Apparently its needed for the nursing research class we have coming up in a future semester so we shall seee.

I like all of the aforementioned shows. They aren't meant to be realistic, they're meant to be entertaining. If you want realistic go to discovery health! Love Nurse Jackie been waiting for this season to start up and had to catch up on demand last week!! Do you guys watch Californiacation or Dexter? and for that matter...the C word and Weeds and True Blood?

yeahh...I'm a TV addict...lol
