anyone taken a break from nursing? - Page 2

I want to leave sooo badly. I am currently looking for a career outside of nursing. I just do not feel in my heart that this is the career for me. I just wished I would have figured this out prior to taking on all of that student debt, and wasting all of these years in it.

I did. I worked at a dentist office and intended on going to dental hygiene school. I stayed per diem at my nursing job still. I only stayed at the dentist office for about a year; it wasn't a bad job, but I knew my heart was in nursing. I missed my residents too much!

Yep I was out for 4 1/2 yrs home with kids and special needs child. I only went back out of because I had to. I'm glad to be back though and love my job.
