1963 Earles Fork Vintage BMW here... been riding my own since 1972(when girls/women REALLY weren't riding much)... I bought it in Germany off a GI going back to the USA. Picked up another 69 model once I got back to the states as well.. still have the two of them, but prefer my old antique.

Currently still in the shop getting a facelift, hope to be able to still do some riding on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. before the summer is all but gone. :o

Rode that bike all over Europe.. from the Austrian Alps to the Costa del Sol in Spain. Then all over New England, Tennessee, and rode out to Kansas by myself from here in Va. to hang with my sis awhile when she lived out there.

Nothing like it. :)

If I recall--you have a bmw right?? My husband's father is one of the best technicians on those bikes--years of experience. However, I have to say that it is the busy time of year right and and in order to get parts or in for a service takes time during the season...and according to my husband nothing ever comes in on time (or if it does come in, its not the right part) This is one of my husband's biggest sources of stress...He hates to hear what you just wrote because he wants everyone to be out riding (unfortunately it seems to be more common than not). Anyway, I hope your bike gets fixed soon so you can go and enjoy the summer!!

Anyone who like pacific northwest::

Ducati Northwest is this weekend and Portland Internation Raceway!! It should be a blast! There will be track rides and a good time for all...But it is tomorrow!! Thursday August 5 (I think that is the right date...) :uhoh21: If you ride a have some time off, try to make it, should be fun!

Zambezi... no, it's a vintage 1963 Earle's Fork BMW, big tank. There's a great place in Georgia that refurbishes all the old BMWs... that's al he does... and does a tremendous job. Would have loved to have taken it there to have it all done over.. stripped down to basics and done from scratch.. just was short the $2000.00 for this. Maybe someday.. so for right now, it's just a paintjob and some basic cleaning up, new tires, grips, brake and clutch cables, etc.

I can send you the link to that guy in Georgioa of you want.. but then, your FIL probably already knows it? Here you go.. just in case...

Better go.. gotta hit the road here in a minute.

Thanx for the input ! :)
