then you know what i meant...

japanese people can't pronounce the letter "l". that's why they are sometimes misunderstood.

a japanese diplomat visited the philippines. in an interview to him by a well-known tv commentator and anchor aired on a national television, the japanese diplomat said:

you firipino pipor are rocky. you have so many cabinet officiars who rob you. you have prenty of government officiars who rob you too. but most of oar, you firipino are very rocky orso because you have a president who robs you, and a first genterman who robs you more.

you filipino people are lucky. you have so many cabinet officials who love you. you have plenty of government officials who love you too. but most of all, you filipino people are very lucky also because you have a president who loves you and a first gentleman who loves you more.

I get it. When I read it I had a completely different spin on it bacause of the accent. When I read the translation I was surprised to see what it really said. The important lesson here is that we need to be careful to understand what people from other areas are saying to us, otherwise we can misunderstand. This can lead to problems.

I love working with and meeting people from other locales, but I admit that once in a while (especially when I am tired or in a hurry) I get impatient when an accent is so different I just can't understand.

This is supposed to be a joke alluding to the corrupt government of the philippines right?

I'm filipino btw

I am totally unfamiliar with any politics. I love all the filipino nurses I know. I just think that this posting highlights how easy it is for people to misunderstand each other and how careful we need to be.

*lmbo* (laughing my butthocks off)

It makes perfect sense to me. The people of RP are not the type to shout corruption too loudly for that would be impolite, yet one hears of corruption. Therefore it is doubly funny to hear it embedded. It is the double entendre that is so much fun. I rove it!

Laughing so loud, my stomach hurts!!! :rcgtku:
