2018 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Hi all,

I've been reading up on the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program and looks like in past years, threads have been started for the yearly application process. I'll be applying as a Staff RN (non-faculty) working at a DSH with an HPSA Score of 16. Not sure of my DTI percentage yet. Hoping to connect with others that will be applying to the program next month and we can all share our updates here. Best of luck to everyone!

How do find a place to work at that will qualify for the loan repayment? I wanted to apply this year but the place I work is a for profit nursing home so it will not qualify. I'm willing to find something different if I can guarantee the place I work does qualify. I found a critical access hospital that is 26 miles away in a neighboring town that I think will work. Any suggestions?

Following. I had two credit checks last year, and no award. Third year applying.

Has anyone had their credit checked yet? It seems like in past years, they usually start right around now.

Haven't noticed a credit check yet! D/I is 125% with HPSA of 17! Anyone know how well a chance is an RN could get on the first application? I applied only days after it opened just in case they took the first come :/

New Grad RN, score of 16 (I think).

I'm a little confused about how they are calculating the DTI. Is it based purely on your loans and income, or do things like credit card debt and mortgages factor in, like they do in a normal DTI calculation? Because it seems like everyone (in threads from years past also) has a DTI >100, but mine only calculates out to like 50 based on just my income and loans.

They don't ask about mortgages or other loans/debt, but do they pull that information from your credit score? Mostly I'm sad that it seems pretty much hopeless that I would be awarded with my stats.

Ok everyone I just got a notification that Credco did an inquiry on my credit! From previous threads i saw that they are the company used last year to pull credit scores (or whatever they're looking at) Fingers crossed for everyone

Good evening, I got a Credco credit check yesterday. This is my 3rd year applying and I got a credit check each time and did not receive the award. Good luck to all.

I also had a Credco credit check yesterday.

Hi everyone,

I'm applying as an ARNP.

My D/I is over 200% but I'm not sure how they'll calculate it because some of the debt was from my first degree. Not sure if they'll consider the total amount or only my nursing school debt (which is still over 150%).

HPSA score is 18 I believe...

Looks like I had a Credco credit check yesterday-I'm hoping that's a good sign?

I'm so nervous!

I just looked at my Credit Karma and I have a Credco inquiry from January 15th. This is my 3rd year applying and I didn't get a credit check last year.
