Hi all,
I've been reading up on the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program and looks like in past years, threads have been started for the yearly application process. I'll be applying as a Staff RN (non-faculty) working at a DSH with an HPSA Score of 16. Not sure of my DTI percentage yet. Hoping to connect with others that will be applying to the program next month and we can all share our updates here. Best of luck to everyone!
Are you an RN or FNP? I don't know if you can have your facility re-evaluted for next year. 12 does put you in Tier 2, not sure if funding ever makes it that far. But never hurts to try if you don't have to manually enter your loans. My hold up was just my transcripts and scanning in my passport and a few other things. So it is a little time consuming.
Should I even bother to do this if my HPSA score is 12? Seems like most people have higher. I live in a very rural area though so thought it would be higher.also how do you get your DTI?
Does anyone know reasons my application says submitted - ineligible?
I have gone through everything in the application and can not find a reason for why it would be ineligible - my emplyment verification is done and good - loans match dates - school matches loan dates
Less than a day left and I can not figure it out!
The only thing I could think of is your facility score? Did you locate your facility in the system and it had an HPSA Score? This is my second year applying, and I have never seen someone state their application said they are ineligible.

My facility is eligible though. I read you don't have to be employed when you submit your application but just by July 2018. Is that true? I don't start at that facility until May - is it because my start date is after my submission?
I would think either your site is ineligible or the site POC put something in wrong on their end. How did you get the POC to fill it out for you if you're not working there yet?
Does anyone know when they start letting us know? I know they have up until Sept to tell us but I was wondering when they start. I am a nurse practitioner with HSPA score of 17 with a DTI of 190%. My odds are good, but I have no idea how they decide with all of the applicants they get per year. I'm nervous!
It varies from year to year and varies based on which pot of money you're applying for (ie. NP, Staff RN, Faculty RN). They decide based off of your DTI and facility score. They start awarding to the highest DTI then go down the list until the money runs out. They have until September to approve or deny you and regardless of award status money doesn't start getting distributed until September/October.
From reading past threads on this it sounds like there have been years where people do indeed end up not hearing anything until September. I have a friend who got an award 2 years ago. For her, the application cycle closed at the beginning of March, she got an offer in April which she accepted, they signed the offer in July and she got her first deposit in September.
Following along again this year. Last year, had a credit check but no offer. It was a real roller coaster ride!RN
HPSA: 18
DTI Ratio: >200%
I am shocked with those stats you did not get awarded, I think last year I forgot one of my transcripts from a school that I only took 2 classes from, I took my time this year. But last year people with stats lower than you were awarded, its just crazy.
