UCF 2013 Accelerated BSN

Hello everyone. I'm new to allnurses.com and I just wanted to say congrats to those who got into the 2012 UCF nursing program this summer.

I am a prenursing student at UCF as I am still working on a few prerequisites before I apply to CON.

Seeing you all on here, all going through the things I'll be going through next spring makes me feel better about this whole process.

Good luck to everyone!!! Strap in! It's going to be one kind of a ride from what I've heard.

Is there anyone out there who is planning on applying to accelerated program (ABSN) that starts in summer 2013? I'm starting this thread in hopes of finding many of you who wouldn't mind going through this somewhat stressful process together! :)

I am very excited and hopeful that I'll be accepted next year. I already have a bachelor's degree in finance and investments so my #1 choice is the accelerated route, however I will also apply to the basic program as a back up option, which will start in the fall of 2013.

Anyone has taken TEAS yet? I took it in spring semester and scored 82. My overall GPA is 3.90 and prerequisite GPA 4.0 so far. I still have 4 prerequisites to complete. Should I retake the TEAS? I heard that scoring 90 or above makes you really competitive.

They told us Thursday maybe. Friday for sure. They said they'd be meeting part of wed making decisions still. And yes there is a con CPR class they mentioned at orientation.

I really thought they would have decisions by Tuesday even though they told us Friday. Thought they were just saying Friday to ensure all initial decisions were contacted. What do I know!

they specifically said it would take more than tuesday to finish going through every file and they'd finish that on wed. They said we'd know on friday but we all assummed thursday in my group. So I'd really say thursday at the earliest but definetly before the weekend. Are they open on good friday? Really I'm not even looking for a reply till tomorrow! But excited to hear!

I'm thinking tomorrow will be the day. We found out about our interviews on a Thursday...here's to hoping we get our acceptance on a Thursday as well :)

Anyone else attending UCF transfer orientation next Friday the 5th?? Would love to do it with a fellow CON student. So praying I don't go through that orientation while on a waiting list! Today is the day. Hopefully at 9 am and not the afternoon please! :)

I haven't signed up for orientation yet, but I will once we get our letters. I don't expect an email until 3pm, but 9am would be great!
