SJRCC Summer 2009 applicants

Hello Everyone! Anyone out there apply to SJRCC for Summer 2009?

At SJRCC I had only 138 points since I don't work in the health field and could not get the 20 pts. My NET scores were Reading 64%, Math 81% overall 72%.

Has anyone checked out the application today online at SJRCC? They have made even more changes to the point system. I am really frustrated that nobody said there are changes coming. I mean this changes the whole thing because they now you get extra points for Chem and College Algebra and Professions of Caring. SO I just had paid for my CNA which is like 575.00 and now find out it is only worth 5 points! Would have been nice to know. I have no idea where I stand now. So if you took Chem you might have more points then you thought!

This is good for me. I took Chemistry and College Algebra. I signed up for professions of caring this fall to add 5 points in case I don't get in for Spring2010. This puts my points at 156 on the new system. 3.5 gpa, 95% composite on NET, 84% reading. Hope it is good enough! What does everyone else look like?

With the new points system, I have 139 points, a 3.92 GPA and my NET scores... Composite 82%, 73% on the Reading. I feel pretty good about everything but you never know for sure!! They have the new "Category Section" which puts me in Category One, the last thing they look at now are your total points...GPA and NET test (or HESI) scores first.

And about all the negative talk about SJRCC....I went to FCCJ to get my LPN and they don't care about their students at all.... I had one teacher brag about the number of students who had failed his class... If you aren't there to see your students be successful....GET OUT!!! Anyway, I love the caring, compassionate nature of the teachers at SJRCC. No matter where you go this is a very competetive field, and you have to be willing to dedicate yourself 110%, work your booty off and not give up if you want to be successful!!! Good Luck to everyone!!

Thanks for the input. Great gpa! Are you taking Professions of Caring this Fall to increase your points in case you don't get in for Spring? I signed up just in case...it adds 5 points for a grade of B or A.

I didn't sign up for the Professions of Caring class, it was already full by the time I looked it up....plus I think a little break will be nice. I have been working hard through these science classes for three semesters straight now!!! If I don't get in the Spring 2010, I will take that class and another...anything to help me stay competitive!! You have some great NET scores and a great amount of points....hopefully we will meet and disclose our true identity when we are both accepted, I have HIGH hopes for the both of us!!! :wink2:

LPNtoRN27- The drop deadline for classes has been extended til the 9th at 10p.m. You should look to see if Professions of Caring becomes available. Good Luck!
