Relocating to Naples area as new RN grad

U.S.A. Florida

Published

We are relocating to the Naples area soon from WA state and I will be a looking for a RN job. Can anyone from this area tell me the average wages? Where to work and not work? I'm familiar with the area.

Also, if anyone has any information on NCH, I would be interested in reading about it. We will be living in Marco Is.

Thanks!

I recently graduated from Nursing School 06/2012 and I have applied to NCH, Physician Regional and Home health agencies but nobody seems to be hiring new grads. Any new nurses from the Fort Myers, Naples area can you please give me any suggestion? I know there must be around 200-300 new graduates from local colleges and universities, I wonder where they are working. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I was hired by physicians regional as a new grad in 2010, and they still hire new grads. There are just not many open positions because it is a small hospital. They will also be hiring seasonal nurses soon, and usually at the end of the contract they will offer you a full time position. Keep applying for jobs, and you may even want to contact Angela, the nursing recruiter. I don't really know much about NCH, and Fort Myers is going to be probably about an hour drive or more from Marco.

Thank you so much for the information!! I will go and apply there tomorrow!!

Carrie, Hi. I am going to be doing the seasonal position. Can you give me any insight? such as - what floor did you work on, is the work environment overwhelming, and what type of unit or workload are you accustomed to regularly (off season).

(I was trying to email for a more private chat. I dont know if theres an option for that on here..)

also, any living locations or living arrangement ideas? : )

greatly appreciated

how many months was your contract with Physician Regional? Was it a tele or med surg floor. What was the ratio?
