PSA Healthcare Orientation

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Has anyone ever worked for PSA in the SW FL area or just FL in general? I have an orientation with them coming up soon and just wanted to know what to expect. How long is the orientation? do i need to bring anything with me and etc. Any information is helpful. Thnxx in advice :)

I went to one of their interviews. I was not impressed. They offered LPN's $15 an hour. They advertised that they had a lot of jobs in my local area. However, in reality they did not. They did have work available for those who didn't mind driving 1-2 hours to get to their job.

No thanks.

I'm 18, live at home and I've never had a job so $15 an hour sounds pretty good to me. Nursing homes in my area pay new grads 16.50 an hour so it's not that big of a difference. Hospitals are not hiring LPNs so I need to get the experience where I can. I wouldn't want to drive 2 hours to go to work though, way too far.

Glad to hear that you are OK with the $15 an hour. I hope they will be able to find work for you in your local area. However, don't be surprised if the only work they have available for you is 1-2 hours away. Good luck.

Thnxxx. It's better than nothing or working for minimum wage, that's the way i see it. If the only jobs are that far away then I won't be accepting the job. The amount of money I'd be spending on gas will cancel my paycheck out.

We watched a lot of videos. We also demonstrated CPR, how to change a mickey button, and how to change trach ties. They went over everything before asking us to demonstrate it. We also took a couple of tests.

I'm going to an assessment next Friday, just curious to see what I'm in for. :)

We had a 25 item test today with CPR hands on and changing a Mickey button thats it and we got hired. Im sure youll do fine it was laid back! It was great!

I'm going for assessment day tomorrow... Brand new to the Jacksonville area, and this site pretty much prepared me for the scarcity of jobs for the inexperienced RN... I only have 2 months SNF experience so far, so I guess I'm pretty much a "new grad" (although I saw A LOT during those 2 months, let me tell you!!!). Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to those that posted previously about assessment day, this has really eased my mind. :)
