PBSC Fall 2012 hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone!! I probably am jumping the gun by posting this already but I'm too excited and just can't believe I'm finishing up my last semester of pre reqs for the program. I take my HESI on Feb 16th. Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and see if anyone has also taken the hesi and what would be the best study guide to get. Here's to hoping for a great fall!!! :D

I cant believe how nerve wracking this whole process is and it is not even June yet!

How long will it take to find out if we get in?

I am thinking 3 weeks. The lady who took my application said 2 weeks but I remember reading somewhere on the website 3 weeks. Also looking at last years hopefulls page, they had denial letters out by June 18, and acceptance on June 23. So 3 weeks is most likely. My points haven't even posted yet so I am checking everyday. Then maybe I can take 2 weeks off of insanity, knowing there will be no news. I am thinking of ordering the fundamentals book to keep busy.

3 weeks is good news, but what's the fundamentals book? I never attended pbsc before

If you look on page 10, a hopefull from the Spring named Joannafiore, wrote about how hard the first semester is and you should read the first 7 chapters of the fundamentals book since that was a hard test. I went to pbsc web site to the nursing web page, then clicked nursing syllabus and then the first class for the first semester, NUR1023. It then gives you the syllabus for that class which includes a huge list of books, one of them being the fundamentals of nursing.

I bought the fundamentals book with financial aid this semester! I am going to start reading as soon as summer semester is over. There is a decent break in between. It is a great idea to get ahead as the first semester is going to be rough!! Uggghhhh can 3 weeks pass already..?? Its almost the deadline :) My points posted on tuesday!!

I applied on May 23rd and still have not seen points up as of yet. :( I also got the Fundamentals Book and started reading it already, very interesting.

I also applied on the 23rd. I will let you know as soon as I see points posted. I think a couple of people who applied on the 14th heard this tuesday so it looks like we are a week behind them. I am hoping the points will be up by Tuesday. I am ordering the book today, hoping it will help pass the time. Longest 3 weeks ever!

I just took Hesi (today, may 31) and average is still 80% so.... I don't know what to think... Mmmmm I'm nervous!

Monablue...How did you do on it? Better than last time?

Well, I did much better but still on 80's :( so my points are the same. Today, I was talking with the person who was taking my application, and I asked about the number of appls, he said that for nursing (as always there are a bunch of appls) there are like 70 applications. I can't believe it!! It would be GreT! But probably he's wrong. Nursing @PBSC is so wished even from students out of area. I would like to think that he is correct, and just they want to keep prestige and fame of high records of applications. I don't know, my nightmare just starts....Always I've heard fall is the most competitive. We will see in 3 weeks, first students no accepted get an email, and 3 to 5 days later, students accepted get the fabulous news!!! Hoping this is it for me, after tremendous travel and 3 appl denied

Thats good that you did better!! What are your points? I hope this is it for you too!! I don't know about there only being 70 applications either. I have heard that they have already received a ton of apps..and that was last week. Who knows... Praying that this is my time too :) im so ready.
