PBSC 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone, this is a thread for the January 2013 PBSC students. I know October is right around the corner, so I am a little frazzled right now. I am preparing for the HESI and have purchased the HESI study guide. Haven't made it to the mandatory information session as yet though. Also I was wondering if the Pro-Calc is a required test for new students as well. I didn't see anything online on testing dates etc for that. Is it similar to the HESI?

No i didnt take it yet. I will have alot of work ahead of me if i do get in! between nursing 1 classes and pharm :/ i just keep reminding myself that all the hardwork will pay off in the end

I like the way you think. I need to start thinking positive thoughts. Did u try any other schools?

No i just moved to fl like a year ago. So im just hoping things work out for me at pbsc. If not i have to come up with a backup plan.

I started that thread in Jan.. But I agree seems like there were tons and tons of people on that one. Maybe everyone had to hold off on applying this go around because they had to take the chemistry class over again since they are only accepting chm1032. Hope that makes this process go by a lot quicker!

So, I was browsing the classes scheduled for Spring 2013 and I found that the lecture is offered Weds and Thurs and the Skills lab is offered Weds or Thurs in BG so technically you will only be required to drive out twice a week! I wonder if clinicals are in BG also? Does anyone know?

they match your clinicals to your address. So If you live in the northern part of the county they try to put you in the same area.

Thanks! That's good to know :)

Hi I'm Kayla! I haven't seen too much about points for the LW Full time program, I applied for the Spring 2013 semester and have 26.65 points. I was so bummed when I took the HESI; I scored a 91.57 and was only a half a point from getting the extra 2 points! I'm really hoping that I will get in the first time around. Has anyone heard anything about the cut off score for the last spring semester?

Wow you did great, you were so close to getting the full 10 points. I don't know about last spring but for the fall the cut off for lake worth was 25.92, belle glade was 24.57, and part time lake worth campus was 25.2. I'm pretty sure your going to get in.

Did anyone on here apply to LW part time? Has your points posted?

Thank you! I've talked to a few advisors recently and I've been pretty relieved to find that the general consensus is that anything over 26 points is a good indication of acceptance.... but you never know. These programs are so competitive! Are you applying to LW or BG?

I read a few earlier posts on here about people apply to LW PT, I believe the point cut off is a bit higher for that program. As for points being posted... I submitted my application on September 21st and my PantherWeb was updated on October 2nd (I believe!). There is another thread in this forum and most students are seing their points posted withing 2 weeks from what I hear! Good luck!

hey jagostino, I applied to LW part time on the 20th and my points posted in 7 business days..i have 27.75 points
