PBSC 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone, this is a thread for the January 2013 PBSC students. I know October is right around the corner, so I am a little frazzled right now. I am preparing for the HESI and have purchased the HESI study guide. Haven't made it to the mandatory information session as yet though. Also I was wondering if the Pro-Calc is a required test for new students as well. I didn't see anything online on testing dates etc for that. Is it similar to the HESI?

My points were posted in 7 buisness days, I'd e-mail Myrick if you still do not see any. Do you have any check marks on you limited access application page? I had check marks within the first couple of days, then I had my points at the bottom, then it said "Current Status:Complete" and "Application Program: Nursing Day Program".... I'm not sure if everyone else had the same time line, but my application wasn't reviewed and completed in one day, it was constantly updated.

Thanks for the info, KSpriggs! Yeah, everyone is saying that it took 1-2 wks for their points to show up so that's why I'm starting to get worried. Although, it seems mostly everyone on here turned their apps in earlier. There are check marks next to transcripts received and evaluated at the top of the page. Everything else is N/A or 0.00. Even the Program Fee Paid shows N/A. Current status shows Pre-Program application...

Yeah mine was updated in 5 days. I handed it in on a monday it posted that friday. If I were you I would call and find out the status of your application...

Thanks, Luvs0920! When did you turn your application in? I called admissions today and they said I had to e-mail Leila that she doesn't take calls.

I dont remeber the exact date. But it was like a couple days after they posted it online.

they match your clinicals to your address. So If you live in the northern part of the county they try to put you in the same area.

thats not 100% true, if your in BG you will have clinical in BG for 1st and 2nd semester no matter where you live.

Im not sure if its Mandatory. That's good to know Thanks, hopefully I'm at JFK . :) I live right by the lake worth campus.

Its not mandatory to take pharm with first semester but i would highly recommend giving it a try. if you wait until summer and then dont pass your out of the program... it happened to some people.

a lot of us took it during 1st semester and did just fine, its doable, just plan to be BUSY!

Hey foodiej. Are you currently in the BG nursing program? If so how do you like it?

Hopefully it updates for you soon, you were definitely closer to the deadline than I was... they may just be swamped now. You have the checklist to calculate your points right?

Thank you for the info. I'm going to try to take it the first semester then, I've heard that it can be a difficult course if you have a lot going on and I currently work full time as a CNA. Any advice on which professors are good for that course? My choices are Carol Alexander, Deborah Marshall, and Louise Aurelien.

Oh no all this hard work just to be kicked out... wont let that happen thanks for the warning. What teacher do u recommend? Or am I just stuck with who ever is teaching it at BG.

Hi jagostino...Did you ever receive a response from the limited access program? I had the same problem with my app not updating and after emailing Leila several times with no luck I called the office there at 868-3639. I spoke to the secretary (can't remember her name, sorry) but explained that my app was not updating correctly and I was unable to reach Leila. She was very helpful and hand delivered the message to Leila and got back with me that day. The issue was also resolved that day. So if it hasnt been taken care of you may want to try this route so that your app isnt overlooked. Good luck!

Did everyone get the LPN backup plan email?
