Miami Dade College (MDC) Fall 2012 Full-time/Part-time Nursing program

U.S.A. Florida

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.

I will start:

I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)

I'm sure that would be a pain to drive from Homestead to the med campus. But good luck in your acceptance and decision! When you turned in your application, did the advisor give any feedback or info regarding the process or what the average scores have been?
When I turned in my app, she said that, as of that day (Apr 12), there weren't a lot of apps in. She expected more between then and May 1. She also said, when she looked at my test score, that I shouldn't have any problem getting in. I sure hope she's right! LOL

I second that in hoping she's right lol. But that's the kind of vibe I got when I turned it in. If you score around that area (or even lower), that you have a good shot of getting in.

Now I guess it's the waiting game..........

I am taking the TEAS test a second time around, is the second test different than the first?

Hey guys does anyone understand the whole private message thing?

It might be a little different. Mine was different although I did have a few questions that were the same.

I'm pretty sure you just click on the name of who you want to PM (private message) and there'll be a tab that says "Send PM". :)

Well, final grades are in, so now the waiting game really begins. How did everyone do in classes this semester? I had 5 classes (A&P 1, A&P 1 lab, A&P 2, A&P 2 lab, and microbiology), and ended up with 4 A's and 1 B. I'm annoyed with the B because I had an A (barely) before the final in A&P 2. I just could not get that info to stick in my head I guess LOL Apps are due tomorrow, so while we won't realistically hear until closer to June, they could start letting people in at any time huh? Good luck all and keep us all posted :)

Congrats on those grades!! Especially taking them all together in one semester. Very impressive. I just had to finish up this semester with Micro (got an A) and the new HSC0003 (got a B cause I didn't try, it's not counted toward to GPA). If anybody is turning in the application today or tomorrow, could you possibly find out how many applications have been turned in so far what they think is a good competitive score (how MDC selects the applicants) of getting in. The more info the better.

Thanks!

is anybody applying to the accelerated program? I heard most people apply for the generic... I am appling for the accelerated and was eondering if it is as competitive as the others.

I am applying for the Accelerated (1st choice). Nonetheless, last week I contacted the Director of Advisement and asked to include all Generic FT program, and the PT program to my application. And they did, on my behalf.

I'm applying to accelerated as well as the other 2 (part-time is my preferred choice). From what I hear, the generic full time is the most competitive to get into because it's only a semester longer than the accelerated and doesn't require a Bachelors degree. What are your scores caroli?

Hey everyone,

I finally took the teas 2nd attempt today.Even though I only improved

my teas score by2.0 total points,

I still feel pretty good about a combined score of 87.04.

Well I guess the wait is on now.

Good luck to everyone!!
