Looking to relocate if it means a job..

U.S.A. Florida

Hi nurses!!

I am currently living in Ohio and am a new graduate! I had been an LPN for about a year before going to get my RN license. Now I hear that there are like NO prospects for RNs where I live. My sister in law and mother in law live in FL and one is a nurses aide and the other an LPN and they say the jobs for them are plentiful but I want to know about RN jobs. I don't want to pick up my life and go down there if I'm not really confident that I will be able to find a job. They are in the Tampa/St. Pete area and that's where I would like to go too. PLEASE HELP ME!!! Thanks for any help..

I would not advise anyone to come to Florida without 1 year of nursing experience-this includes CNA'S, LPN'S and RN's. With 1 year of experience as an LPN you can make $15 an hour working for Maxim or NurseCore doing pediatric private duty in the home. If you are an RN with 1 year of experience, you can make $16 an hour with Maxim or NurseCore.:crying2:

 Good Lord! I guess one would have to be desperate to go with Maxim as an RN. In Jax, pay is in the low $2x.xx range and that is true for NGs! (If you can find a NG job!)

Yes, indeed. They know the Florida nurses are desperate for work so Maxim and NurseCore take advantage of that fact.
