U.S.A. Florida

Hello all! I just wanted to start a topic for those of us applying to the 2014 ADN program at IRSC. I am so excited to finish my prerequisites and apply! LetsAll compare our application processes and wait to hear back from the program together! My names is Emily and I am taking a&p1 and micro this summer, then taking the NLN in August and submitting my app!

Tell me about yourself !

@PDowling Good advice, thanks! I'm just SUPER nervous about the whole application process. All I hear is how extremely hard it is to get into this program :nailbiting:

Has anyone already taken the NLN this year to apply in sept.? I'm taking mine next week, super nervous. :0

I plan to take mine around the end of this month. Do I need to go ahead and make the appointment or do they just do it by walk in?

You have to pay ahead at a campus for it, but can go in and take it anytime after that. Don't forget your receipt though! @currya

Okay, thanks! Good luck.

Hellloooo Spring 2014 hopefuls! My name is Brittney and I am also applying in September. I'm currently employed as an LPN and I've completed all my pre-reqs. I am now studying to take the NLN at the end of this (August) month. I haven't attended the info session yet, but I do know that it is mandatory to attend one before the application deadline. So, August 15th is the last chance to attend before the deadline. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone. Good luck to you all!!!! P.s. Does anyone know how long it takes before acceptance emails go out?

Hey Brittney! I was following another thread and it looks like the acceptance letters started rolling out 5 1/2 weeks after the deadline. Good luck!

I'm trying to register for the NLN online like the application form says, but the nln site does not give the option of taking it in Florida, I called the website itself, and they said irsc does not allow online registration, so I called the school and they seemed to have no idea, and directed my phone call to the "nursing program people" (don't know correct term for them). My question is HOW DO I REGISTER, is there another way of doing it that there not saying online? HELP HELP HELP!!!

Hi HollyAnnD,

I just applied and are planning on taking the NLN at the end of the month. On the IRSC website it says that we sign up for the NLN at the Educational Services Center on any campus, but have to take the test at the Main campus. Make sure to bring the receipt for the health application when you go to sign up for the NLN. Good luck.

Hi everyone! I'm another hopeful :) I plan on taking the nln test in about 2 weeks & just got finished taking my main pre-req's. Just took A&P 1 & lab summer 1 & mirco/lab summer 2. I'm so thankful to be done with those classes! Really interesting but definitely challenging. I don't feel prepared for the nln at all but i'm going to give it my best!

2 questions : I know if I fail nln I can re-take in 6 months but is there a maximum amount of attempts before they cut you off? (this will be my 1st time but im getting nervous!) & second the mandatory info session they want you to go to. I didn't get to go to most recent one but I went to one about 4 months ago will that count?? I hope so!! Thanks!! Hope everyone makes it in the program :)

Hey everyone! I am so excited to finally join the discussions on this forum. I have applied to both the LPN and RN programs. I have taken both nln tests. My overall score for the RN is 168. I hope it gets me in!!! Does anyone know what range of scores were accepted in the spring? Good Luck to all of you!

I was reading some of the forums for the last cycle and most of their points for the app averaged around 150. It all really depends on the range of applicants you apply with. But, 168 is a good score in my opinion!
