I am completing my prereqs at FCCJ and wondering which classes count in the point pool for admissions. Also, what is the max score on the portions of the NAT that we are required to take. I can't find that information anywhere and it would be very helpful. Thanks!!

your best bet is to go to the guidance office at your local campus. information changes from term to term, so the guidance office *should* have current info on what is needed. when i was switching majors i consulted with a guidance counselor who gave me information on the nursing program.

they should have an information pamphlet on the nursing program, that is actually compiled by the nursing department. it includes what classes are counted and info on the NAT.

I agree....best bet is to go to the office....stuff changes so much around there ;o)

The classes that count are: ENC1101 (english I), DEP2004(human growth and development), PSY1012, MCB2010, Anatomy and Phsysiology I and II, a Math course (college algebra or higher), SYG2000 (sociology); and though chemistry is not counted in the points total, you must complete it in order to take micro.

The other requirements are:

1) BLS class for healthcare prof.

2)NAT

If you have experience working in the health field that will also give you points.

What is "BLS"? I attend FCCJ as a pre-nursing student and I haven't heard of this class. Thanks.

BLS == basic life support or the CPR class for healthcare providers

Ok thanks. Yeah, I already took the CPR class in June 2008. Sorry, I never heard it called "BLS".

I think you can print one from the website. If not, go to North campus Nursing Dept and pick one up. It is on the 2nd floor above the autitorium ("B" building I believe).

You can also go to any guidance office and they'll give you an application :nuke:.
