UF DNP Fall 2012 BSN-DNP
I heard from 2 others they received denial/waitlist emails on Friday. One had applied to peds and the other adult acute in Jax. I had not heard/seen anything. I called Cecile after I didn't get anything in the mail today and she said that letters will be emailed by Wednesday but that all the denials had been sent. So...check your junk mail to make sure you aren't missing anything. I am assuming that if we didn't get a denial email, that means we got in. I am keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for an email.

UNF Traditional BSN Fall 2010-2011!
that is what I thought too...that at this point the interview was half the points and the combined teas/gpa was the other half. I tried to find that info on the unf webpage and I didn't find it...I was surprised when both the current students stated that those points didn't come into play anymore. Either way, I just hope to do my best on the 25th and see what happens!

UNF Traditional BSN Fall 2010-2011!
I spoke with 2 current UNF students, one who is the president of the nursing student association at UNF and will be there the day of the interview. He said to dress professionally (duh?) and that the questions are similar to a job interview...why do you want to be a nurse, conflicts you have had in the past and how you resolved them, etc. Also, both of them indicated that everyone who was selected for an interview is on the same level now...that grades and TEAS score no longer play a part and that the interview results are what dictate who gets a spot. Hope that helps!!! crossing my fingers.

UNF Traditional BSN Fall 2010-2011!
I got my letter and have an interview slot of 10:30. I have 2 friends who are in the program now and I will ask them more about the interview process and let everybody know. I have read a post about the interviews somewhere on allnurses, so I will be looking around here as well. Laura

UNF Traditional BSN Fall 2010-2011!
I spoke with the lady at UNF who answers admissions questions and she told me the point cutoff for interviews for the summer class. I remember the total being in between 660 and 690. I don't remember specifically and I just checked and it doesn't look like I wrote it down. This number is your prereq gpa X's 100 and the teas total. Here is the info from the UNF website concerning interview selection... Test items typically cover content from grades 10 - 12 in U.S. high schools. The TEAS composite score (Math, Science, Reading Comprehension, English) will comprise one half (1/2) of the points toward interview selection. Each section is worth a maximum of 100 points (100%) for a total TEAS score maximum of 400. The remaining 50% of the interview selection score will come from the applicant's prerequisite GPA (originally to 2 decimal places) multiplied by 100; the maxima prerequisite GPA score is 400. Note that candidates must have both overall and prerequisite GPAs of no less than 2.90 for admission consideration, regardless of one's TEAS score. There is currently no minimum score on the TEAS for admission consideration at UNF. The combined, overall score from the TEAS and prerequisite GPA will rank candidates for interview selection. Note that not all applicants are selected for interview. Laura

UNF Traditional BSN Fall 2010-2011!
I think that they add up the four sections, but I think multiplying you teas average times 4 gives you the same number.

FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls
I spoke them today and they confirmed that an printed transcript off connections would be fine. Also, she said that letters don't go out until the beginning of August. Not much time to plan! Laura

UNF Traditional BSN Fall 2010-2011!
I am applying to both UNF and FSCJ and found out today from FSCJ that they don't send letters out until the 1st of August. I you get and interview for UNF, which will be June 15th, I think that they send their letters out around the 1st of July...Does this sound right? Laura Also...I heard from Ms. Dibble that the cutoff for interviews last semester was around 670, I can't remember the exact number. (gpa for prereq's and teas score x's 4)

FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls
Has anyone submitted their application for summer?? I have called the nurse administrator lady (I don't think we can say names??) lets call her Mrs. J, to ask her if the transcript has to bee sealed from FCCJ or if I can just print one out from my FCCJ account at home. Does anyone have the answer? Thanks Laura

FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls
I took the NAT today and did pretty well. I am taking the TEAS at UNF tomorrow, but I am leaning toward FCCJ, even if I get in to UNF because of things I have heard about the differences between the 2 programs. So, I am applying to FCCJ with over 200 points and hoping that is good enough to get me. I was told the other day that the cutoff for spring was 193, so I am hoping to be safe. When is everyone applying for the fall? I know that the due date is June 1, does anyone know when they start accepting applications? thanks, Laura

FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls
Thanks for the information! I looked in the TEAS book on there is 1! page on physical science, so I guess I know now to look that page over pretty carefully. What sections in the Petersons's ARCO book did everyone study for the NAT? I am studying the Part II: Practice for Registered Nursing School Entrance Examinations. Is this the right section? Thanks! Laura:confused:

FCCJ/FSCJ Fall 2010 Hopefuls
I am applying to both UNF and FCCJ for Fall 2010. I am taking the TEAS the last week in February. I am wondering if there is that much difference between the two exams? I plan on taking the NAT the same week. I have both books and can study both, but I am currently studying the TEAS book. If anyone has taken both tests and knows if the same basic information is covered, please let me know! Thanks, Laura
