FIU changed their reqs since 1-2 semesters ago if im not mistaken. they now require HESI as an entrance test for example.

I believe both FAU and FIU want you to have at least an associate degree to transfer, if not an RN, for their bachelor's. FIU has a two year generic program that leads to an RN and BS in Nursing, but you must have an associate degree or previous bachelor's and nursing prerequisites. FAU has an accelerated bachelor's degree.

gacayana (the above poster) is actually my sister :lol2:, and she got in the FIU program doing the prereqs at FIU, no associates, previous bachelors etc. Although an associates degree will give you high preference. FIU also has a foreign MD to BSN program.

To get into the generic BSN program, you do not need to have an associate's degree, you just have to have the FIU pre-requisites assuming you are an FIU student. If you are not an FIU student, they like you to have you AA in pre-nursing completed.

For the RN-BSN program, as the name implies, it is a bachelor's program for students who have completed an AA and an AS in nursing, and have their RN licenses in hand.

FAU is a state school, so pre-reqs should be similar to FIU's.

If I was the OP. I would call and ask them to send me a packet of information in the mail regarding both programs. That's what I did when I was looking into nursing schools ;)
