Broward college May 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Hi I would like to apply for the generic May 2012 entry nursing program at Broward college. Any one else looking into applying for this program. Let's help each other out in this process. I know it's a bit early but I'm excited !!!:)

Do you know if the nursing program for may is at the central campus?? I'm a little confused. Some people have told me not to apply for the may program and wait til august.. but i'd rather just get it over with to be honest. Every paper I look at regarding nursing gives me different information! First, the nurses in my HCP class told me I didn't need to get the certificates done until after I get accepted into the program.. then something online said I needed to get them done before. If anybody has any clue what is going on ... just let me know :) that would be great.

u have to get it done before because u hand it in with ur application. about may and central campus im not sure about it next may because sometimes they do and sometimes they dont.

hi

Have anyone submitted there application yet. I am studying for the hesi exam right now, I want to submit mine by the first week of december.

Any suggestions on how to study for the hesi (books, main area to focus on etc.)

Thanks

I too am applying for may and every1 has been telling me to study the hesi study guide thats in the book store.

Hello everybody, I took the HESI test in late October and passed with an overall score of 92%. It wasn't hard at all. A lot of people where freaking out about the test, but honestly, if you study the guide you shouldn't have any issues. Take it right after A&P 2 since the A&P part of the exam is the hardest.

I applied to the program on November 1st. I looked online to check the status of my application which is "In review." They gave me 10 out of 16 points for my GPA and 1 for being a broward resident. I hope with my HESI score that is enough to get me in. I won't find out for a couple of months.

Let's keep this thread going and update your status regarding your application.

Can someone tell why HSC course is needed? What if I have a CNA license, would I still have to take this course? Any clarity will help. Thanks...

It's a requirement for Broward College. You need the course to apply for their program. The CNA license might help you with some of the certificates you need to get after your accepted.

Okay, thank you.

Has anybody put in their application for May yet? I'm turning mine in the beginning of January, how many points does everybody have so far?

I turned mine in yesterday afternoon!:)

i'm turning mine in January 3rd, I had to retake the anatomy part of Hesi. So for the application, what all did you turn in? And whats your gpa for the prereqs?

I turned in the app. With my hesi scores and the core class certificate.

2.92 which is not great but it's not horrible. The lady said we should know by the second week of February. Is that the only place you are applying to?

Yea I have a 3.0 gpa and then I guess I get one extra point for being a Broward County resident. I didn't get the 5 points for Hosa, I just moved to florida a year ago and we didn't have those in our schools. I wasn't sure about any other schools to apply to, but people said broward was decent. What campus is the May program gonig to be at ?
