How were your friends GPA's? Man, this is so exciting to hear and I'm not even waiting yet, lol. But I know some who are.....can't wait to find out if they're in!

Guys check your email. Notification has been sent out to those who applied for BCC Jan program. I know a few folks who have received their emails this morning. Good luck.
If you got in or not, can you post your GPA please?

Just checked nothing yet!!! Oh boy now I'm freaking out. I don't think I've ever logged in to my email account to fast! My fingers are about to fall off!:typing

I bet they started with the people who have the most points and are narrowing down the list. Anyone else checked their email??

good luck to you all.

It seems overwhelming at first, but it is very doable. study everything, read every page and every word. take notes. there is a packet that you have to buy that gives you the goals/objectives for all the classes in the program, use that as an outline to study process 1&2-- that will help you pass the test.

be nice to other students too- get the saunders comprehensive review for nclex-rn and use it to practice questions and as an "extra" reading, it will help you practice questions for the test. and even take a nap too when you get home from school even if it's a 1/2 hour-- it will help your brain rest before starting to study, I did all that, and I was preggers at the time too. after I had the baby, it was hard to sleep, I was tired and my grades slipped a little bit, and I was 'borderline passing' a lot of the times, but ended up making my points at the end.

they sent me this email, but i dont know of this being so. i tried calling several time but no answer (BCC staff is so rrrrrrrrrr). on their website it say application for the August class is in January. can anyone tell me if this is so? thank you

"A Generic Nursing class will also begin in May of 2009. If you are interested, you may apply during the application period from November 1, 2008, through January 15, 2009".

Hey guys,

I too received the dreaded email on Saturday. :cry:I'm not sure where I'm going to consider seeing that I didn't get into Miami-Dade and can't afford to fund another degree. I'm going to look into other states and schools up north. Keep you head up to those who did not get in and good luck to those who are still waiting.:nuke:

almost everbody i knew got denial letters even my friend with a 3.4 gpa. they must be really picky or the standards got higher this selection. i heard they got over 600 applications anyways Vonne dont be too sad, life goes on just keep applying to other schools.

I checked my email today as well -- nothing yet. I applied for the January 2009 program. I have a 3.6 program GPA. I also have everything else done for the requirements so I know if there's a tie, you get extra points for that.

But I don't live in Broward nor do I have OSHA credits...both worth extra point credits. So we'll see what happens. :)

Yes, regarding that email for the Aug class, the registration dates are correct as I know someone who got that same email.

Vonne G, what was your GPA>?Also, I am sorry about your denial letter but keep your chin up and reapply.

I also heard that after the last Basic Core class in Oct which had over 200 peopl in it, that the pool of applicants were 600 or more....very competitive.

I GOT IN!!!! I received the email this morning!!! I am soo Happy I want to cry!! My program GPA was a 3.92 and i already had all of the pre reqs finished including behavioral science and micro. Good luck to everyone who has not yet received a letter and for those who did not get in, keep your head up. Everything happens for a reason. Its been a loong road for me before I finally got accepted into a program. Just keep trying and never give up if this is your dream.

Yes I just realized that! I think that is new. I don't remeber there being a May class before. It was only LPN-RN. I'm going to submit another app for that period.
