Just checking to see if anyone is out there:D

The Flight Nurse Guy who Susan Lewis on ER is divorced from but getting back together with is a handsome man. I would not rule out flight nurses !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've always wanted to be a flight stewardess... it's quite a chance... anyone who could help me with the requirements for flight nursing...?? thanks!!

I think they are calling them attendants this week....

I did find out that the max age is something like 50....

Go for it!

Specializes in ICU.

A good freind of mine was one of the nurses for the flying doctor service. She tells of bring in a labouring patient from a rural hospital and "when the plane landed so did the baby" :roll

Downside - took her 5 hours to clean the Amnion out of the inside of the plane:eek:

That sorta put me off.

Though to be honest I have taken patients as escorts on flights and have done retrievals.

HINT: Never take a patient on a flight in the middle of the day in Australia - the thermals rising off the land mid summer make Maxolon a must!!

can we say "barf bag?"

I just started a job as a flight nurse. The training is incredible, and you can't beat the schedule. (24 hour shifts, 7-8 days per 4 week schedule). Pay's pretty average, but the training, the comradarie, the adrenaline.

Our flight service is helicopter only. Around 35% scene flights such as highway accidents, back hills, and other such. The rest are emergency transfers from small rural hospitals to the larger centers.

It's hard to get into, but it's a great job. I highly recommend it.

Be well...
