Has anyone received their ATT letter yet who graduated this fall?

Wow thats kinda awesome... great minds think alike! Im taking Chem. and Micro. starting on MOnday until end of may. I want to get thse measley last 3 classes out of the way so I get onto the RN program... fall all I have left is my Physio. so yea I kinda wanted this part over before I start studying new material, but of course life doesnt happen to lay bricks as we always hope.. does it?! The only reason why I know when my DON sent our paperwork is because I had called her before hand way earlier before she set up our meetings ... and then at our meeting to submit our applications/money/photos I asked her if everything went smoothly and if she was sending everything earlier than she had originally planned and she said yes.. so just going by when they cashed my check and my meeting day w her was Dec 4th thats why Im giving leadway so I may actually hear sooner... Hows your BW/IV class? I took my IV class the day after my last day of NS. I dont know what to do about the BW because Im a licensed Phleb. and not sure who to talk to about getting that put on my license or if I need to redo a course? Doesnt seem like Id need to... but maybe Im just going to keep my license current on my Phleb. but I liked my IV course.. thats been done since Nov 16th! Im so behind on bills.. I hope this hurries up! Are you in CA by the way?

Hey HeartJulz~

Yeah I'm in Cali...San Jose that is...I haven't spoke to my director about anything and she probably explained to us a bunch of times what the process will be like and I probably wasn't listening...I was too focused on just graduating!!! I heard that she is on vacation until next week so I'll have to wait...urghhh ...anyway, Micro is my last class that I have to take so I'm planning on applying to RN schools by fall this year...I have to get a really good grade in Micro because if I don't, I won't make the cut off GPA score...yes my anatomy and physiology grades are poor...unfortunately...

My IV/BW class is alright...I get really scared of the needle piercing into the skin...it really freaks me out...Tomorrow we get checked off with BW's...Friday we take a test and then I guess we're certified...We have a student in our class who is also a licensed phlebotomist...he's getting certified for IV and BW even though he has his phlebotomy license...

Wow...your school seems really organized! Where did you go???

I am also behind on my bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm working part time at a cageless doggy daycare and as much as I love working with the dogs...I can't wait to start my nursing career!!!

I hope I get notice soon..I really want to plan on taking the NCLEX no later than February because my Micro class doesn't end until end of May too. Have you started studying yet?

I wish my school had been organized! I did all of the work myself. They never once spent a minute on any of the process on once we have our papers submitted. They had some people in about the review classes but I didnt pay too much attention because Im not paying for that. All the books at Barnes and Noble explain all we need to know and I dont need to be paying $300-1200 for that! A lot of my class mates think Im crazy for not taking it, but I know how I am Im super self disciplined and have no problem pushing myself out the door to barnes and Noble and studying 6-8 hrs a day if need be. So Im not worried. And in NS I really studied more on a RN level. Instead of just knowing things I dug deeper to find out the whys hows and what ifs so on and so forth. Yes I have studied but not as much as I should be... I plugged in a new cd rom last night it had some good stuff... but I will be buckling down the rest of this week. well good for you for having all of your pre reqs done. Ive put Chem off for sooooo long. I took Anatomy way back 6 yrs ago same w Bio and Nutrition. Do you plan to pursue further after your RN? I plan to maybe eventually get my BSN.

HeartJulz~

Yeah, I plan to apply to SJSU's RN program but wherever I get accepted is where I'll go..so yeah eventually I want to get my BSN.

I am not self disciplined at all...I need motivation from my friends that I've made from NS. As I said earlier, I sort of put off studying for the NCLEX about 3 days ago since I've started the IV/BW class. I get really lazy some times too but I was an A/B student (mostly B's) in NS. I procrastinated a lot too and always put off studying until the last minute. I think as soon as I actually know when I'll be taking the NCLEX...I'll get more serious about studying. I've only been studying Saunders and Kaplan.

I graduated 12/13 and still no ATT letter.

I sent my instructor an email today, thinking perhaps that my application fell into the garbage or something, but haven't heard anything.

So much for the theory that you should take your NCLEX within a few weeks of graduation!

Unfortunately once the schools push us out the door, they will rarely help. It is now in the hands of the boards, you, and Peason Vue. Make sure you sign up with Pearson Vue www.pearsonvue.com/nclex

Pay your fee of $200 and then its just the waiting game. Have you received you eligibility letter from boards? And make sure you turn off any spam filter you have on your email sometimes your ATT can end up in your bulk folder and accidently get deleted if you have a spam filter. Or you can not put an email address just a mailing address and you will get your ATT through the mail. I finished school in NOvember and still waiting, but Im in CA and this is normal to wait a HUGE long time and I already have somewhat figured out when I will probably hear word... so hang in there!

I'm steaming mad now.

Nobody had explained the process to me.

I've been thinking all this time that I would get an ATT letter, then go online and pay the $200. fee and schedule my test date then.

NOT!

So I called the board as my instructor said to do, and they told me to go to www.vue.com/nclex and register and pay my $200 fee.

Now I apparently wait for the ATT.

I had it all wrong, but nobody told me anything. How am I supposed to know the process if I haven't been through it before and nobody tells me?

Trust me, I was in the same exact boat... I think for the most part none of the schools same a darn thing to the students. My school never piped in about anything whatsoever. I went out to Barnes and Noble and did a week and a half research myself on the process. Now I am well informed and I have been letting others know who dont know.. I told soem of my fellow class mates but they are mostly jerks and thought they 'know it all' and turn and tell me something opposite of whats even true of the process instead of actually thanking me for helping them. Throughout nursing school it was very segregated...worst experience and I thought Id making lasting friendships hahahaha! Anyway you dont get ATT letter, its either emailed or if you dont supply an email you will have it mailed and from my understanding its numbers that you type in when you go to schedule your test. Right now you need your eligibility letter from boards. Usually when boards gets through your paperwork they let Pearson Vue know... i believe its electronically then PV automatically sends your ATT and then also a couple days later you will receive your card copy of your eligibilty letter frm boards. I think on that letter you also have a candidate number and with that and the ATT number you type those in on PV site and it will drop down a box of available times and dates for your NCLEX. Good luck and if you need any additional help I will be happy to help ...

I haven't received my eligibility letter yet...Will it make the process faster if I paid and registered for the NCLEX on pearson vue website?

Specializes in My first yr. as a LVN!.

I dont think personally it will make the process any faster, but you will def. be one step ahead and when calling PV they are more willing to help than boards... I have had to call PV twice ... because they are supposed to send ATT no later than two weeks is what I read, but for me its been since Dec 7th (5 weeks)... so right now Im waiting on just boards...

Well, I registered with Pearson and paid my $200 yesterday.

Hope I hear something soon!
