I wanted to start a thread for the UCSF Residency Program applicants. I recently applied and the application is open until 4/17/2017. These forums give me some piece of mind, Hopefully we can help eachother out!

Congratulations!!!

I interviewed about two weeks ago for OR. And just got reference check email two days ago. Do you know if that's just mandatory reference checks for everyone who have had interviews? Or they had already selected some canadiates? I want to know having the reference check email is it a good sign?

I would think asking for references would be a good sign since they are seriously considering you. I havent gotten anything about a reference check so who knows, Im not sure haha sorry

On the same boat, getting kind of nervous. Do people usually hear back the same time? (Also asking for units outside of CTCU)

It would make most sense to me that they would notify all chosen ones at the same time, and would decide on everyone before even starting to give offers. Unless they're notifying as they're selecting and haven't chosen everyone yet. Either way, fingers crossed still!

I also heard that another unit notified the selected ones a week or two ago and never got back to the ones who weren't selected.

I'm really hoping they're still making decisions... I guess we'll know by the end of the month for the answer.
