Well, I'm 3 months in to my 1st job. Next week is my last week of orientation and then I'm on my own. Been getting good feedback from my preceptors, other nurses, management, docs and patients. Not fully comfortable yet here in the ER, don't really expect that for quite a while (if ever). I continue to ask a lot of questions and my time management is improving, that is, everything is getting done and I leave on time. Have essentially been working on my own for the past month, my preceptors have been acting as floats, helping out other rns as need be. So, I think I'm about as ready as I'll ever be to take the next step.
The bottom line is..... I can't believe they actually pay me to do this.
