hi!

anyone up for swapping resumes for constructive criticism?

during my time in school i participated in many seminars to perfect resume writing and interviewing skills; which i am sure you did to! i was also a tutor for nursing students which i helped assist many students write their resumes and cover letters.

i thought this would be a great way to share ideas of what we learned and help each other make our resumes and cover letters stand out!

if you would like to participate pm me and i will give you my email address to swap resumes. please take off all identifying info (name, address, phone number) from your resume. i don't want o be responsible for it!

can't wait to swap resumes!!!!:wink2:

Thanks so much!! I don''t know why I didn't know you can do attachments!!! Your resume looks good. I would put clinical hours, license number and some clinical skills. Were you taught to have your resume be only one page? I was taught a max of two. I was told from a recruiter from UCSD to put a list of skills or they wont give much attention to the resume.

Thanks for participating!!!!!

Hi Maverick,

your resume is pretty good, however I agree with ilovenursing2009, ad a little skills. What did you do when you worked and in your rotations? Max of two for a resume is correct, however, if you don't have much experience to show for, keep it at one page. Just my two cents. :)

Is it too late to get in on this discussion? I took (and Passed!) my NCLEX last week and need to get my resume out there, however, since I am still looking for my first "nursing" job I am having a hard time taking my skills from my current position and applying them to my new LPN title...:banghead: Can I go ahead and send a copy to anyone?

hey guys,

I hope i'm not too late. I'm not too sure about my resume. I would love to have my resume critiqued as well.

Prefer to email it. Thanks

are u guys still up for swapping resumes?

Hey there, I would greatly appreciate some feedback on my resume. I have filled out 51 applications (last I counted) with only one interview. I have never taken a resume workshop, and I have not had much experience other than clinicals /and patient care tech employment. It may be too wordy, it may be too vague. Not sure! It is very honest, but again, not much to it. I did not include my skills in the resume, because all of the applications that I have filled out have required a description of my job duties, and that is where I have listed skills such as IVs, sterile fields, etc. Should this be incorporated into my resume as well? I thought not, just because if I were a recruiter I would not want to read repeat info.

Anyway, I think it's great that there are people on here that are willing to read these resumes for us less experienced resume writers. If there is anyone out there that has not been overwhelmed by the resumes that they have been receiving, pleae let me know so I may send mine too. I don't want to just send it, if you already have too many. Thanks!
