When we walked in for our pinning we had "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"...can't remember what guy sings it, but it was the version that they played at the end of "You've Got Mail".

We had a very positive response from all our family, friends and faculty.

We walked into a piano only version of Elton john's "Goodbye yellow Brick Road"

Well, at least the us girls did, our guys walked in after us to "Eye of the Tiger" got a big laugh with that one.

We walked out to "New York New York" because of the line "I'm leaving today...."

Enya while people were getting seated, and we had a slide show of pictures through out time in the program that included Garth Brooks "the River" and openeing to Queen's "We are the Champions"

We only have 1 guy in our class so I'm not so sure that Eye of the Tiger will work....I definately like the enya idea while people are getting seated ....Thank you for all the ideas I really appreciate it!!!

They sang "you are my angel" at our pinning. But the one I loved was the year before us "Go light your world" by Kathy Trocoli. It is a christian song but you would really never know it. It was perfect!

That is a beautiful song...but I think we have to consider the multicultural and religious beliefs of everyone in the class....and I'm not so sure that everyone will feel the same way we do about the song....Thank you so much for taking the time to include the lyrics!!!

The class that uses this song pinned about 180 (State University) at their ceremony and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. They walked in to this song carrying candles (ala Florence Nightingale). Like I said before I think it has a double meaning and except for one line could be secular. Anyway.... just a suggestion.
