It seems that in my area hospitals are starting to hire new grads again. Not everyone is getting jobs right away, but it seems that everyone who graduated in classes before me all seem to have gotten jobs. They just had to wait about 3 months. My current job just hired 10 new grads. The hospital I'm doing clinicals at just hired about 21 new RNs from my school (which is awesome, and gives me hope by the way). Of course the new grad program starts out paying less than I make as an LVN, but whatever, a job is a job.

Is it getting better in your area?

I graduated in July, and just took my NCLEX yesterday....however, I was hired into a local hospital earlier this week as a CNT, until my license is confirmed for LPN :).....I really think things are getting better in my area....oh...and i got the "good" popup using the Pearson Vue Trick...so...im hoping/praying that its true and i passed!

Yes. During orientation, the Chief Nursing Officer (500 bed hospital) told us, "We cut back nurses in 2009, didn't hire any in 2010, and now we are starting to hire again."

The new grads in my orientation class far outnumbered the experienced nurses.
