hello nursingstudent221!

Okay, if you are talking about 8 hour shifts then the day shift would be from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm; evenings would be from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm; nights 11:00pm to 7:00 am (give or take 30 minutes)

12 hour shifts can be from 7 am to 7pm and 7 pm to 7 am.

hope this helps!

There is some slight variation -- some of the hospitals in my area are on an 8-4/4-12/12-8 or 8a-8p/8p-8a schedule.

Around here, 8 hour shifts are usually 7-3, 3-11 and 11-7.

12's are usually 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, 11p-11a and--yes, I saw this at my local ED: 1p-1a

6a-6p and all 8 hr variations, depending on department...
