Sabbath Observing students of Excelsior?

Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

Hello,

My question is about the CPNE. I hear it is on a weekend. I religiously observe Saturday (starting Fri night, ending Sat night). One of the major perks of going to this school is that I never had to worry about having to take an exam on a Saturday or Friday night. Is it true that CPNE is ONLY ever a weekend? I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't have any form of accommodation. The closer and closer I get with each passing grade is the more I worry so I finally decided to post a question. So I guess what I'm asking is, has anyone else dealt with this out there and was there an accommodation made my EC?

While I am all about observing your religion, if your religion creates obstacles for your work life-choose a different field. I have never understood nurses that go into nursing and then say they can't work wknds...ummm hello...wknds are a major part of the nursing field. Perhaps become a school teacher instead?

There are many nursing careers out there that are Mon-Fri. Drs offices, clinics, occ-med. school. Surgical centers, Management etc.

just because someone out there wants to have weekends off for religious reasons (or just to have a "normal" life) does not mean they should seek another career.

They have a legitimate question about the CPNE test date. Their career choice is theirs.

I am a Sabbath observant CNA/nursing student. While I understand some of the PP issues with me taking every Saturday off, I would like to point out that I work EVERY Sunday as well as Xmas, New Years, Labor Day... I don't actually have any more or less holidays available to me than you do.

About the test, I know that with SATs there are Sunday tests available for such issues.
