Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

Was just wandering if anyone else has recently or is currently enrolled in the RN program through Excelsior College? I'm all new to this and getting ready to take my first exam soon of Life Span and soon will be starting on Sociology. Any insight on the exams, or overall the program would be greatly appreciated. Would like to hear from others who are currently through EC or has recently graduated. Thank you!

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

I started my nursing exams in September I used study guide 101, the content guide, and the practice exams. Took 3 days off before a test to really focus and tested. I took my last nursing exam in May and now waiting to start my FCCA June 30th. I'm really hoping to have. CPNE date by the end if the year. Good luck

Thank you, I have been reading all of these posts from years ago and didn't know if anyone has recently gone through or if anyone has recently completed their nursing through EC. I have been studying for the Life Span exam and I am really nervous and feel like I don't know anything or can't recall anything. I'm trying to get down the Piaget and Erikson stages and know what each stage means. I am not good at test taking and I am nervous about the test. I guess because I don't know what to expect and keep asking myself if I've studied enough for it or are there things I have not really touched on that will probably be on the test. That's all! It's encouraging to hear there are people out there that is almost done and to hear how they have studied for their exams. Thank you!

HI Nurse_Ali

I have been with EC for almost a year and am starting my last four exams before the FCCA and CPNE. I too, have used Study Group 101, but also used my books from LPN school. The Fundamentals book from almost any program should work for Health Safety and Fundamentals. I was lucky to have the actual book recommended because my LPN school taught from it.

Everytime I get worried about an exam or down and out, I refer to this blog and find so much information and support.

Good luck with everything and I wish you all the best.

Where do you get the study guide 101 material?
