Are there specific aoc's that are required to be done in order?

Also, for example resp assessmt, do we only chart normal or abnormal breath sound or do we go into wheezing on expiration etc?

Im in the process of making my grid with the assessments and managements. I have also included vs order to chart.

For WIIGS, is the S for skin turgor and if so doesnt that go under Fluid Mgmt with the 20min checks and not the initial intro etc?

Thanks for any help!

Some of the AOCs do have a specific order to them -- this is spelled out in the study guide, as is the way to chart lung sounds ... it's either clear or abnormal, or normal vs. abnormal .... I don't remember exactly.

Thanks Lunah... I guess they want us to just know difference bw norm and abnorm. Any idea on the WIIGS mneumonic?

No clue! I used different mnemonics. But yeah, you're not expected to differentiate between different lungs sounds beyond clear or abnormal.

Did you use a grid as well? Im finding mine is getting kinda lengthy! But i dont want to miss a step!

Yep, sure did! You'll only end up with 3-5 AOCs per PCS, so it won't be that big when you write it out.

Thanks for all the advice! I appreciate any insight!!

Abdominal Assessment is to be done in order, because if you palpate before you listen, you may cause the bowel sounds to change. For this one I use the mneumonic PPPPLLF: Provide Privacy

Pee (Do you have to pee?)

Position (they must be supine w/knees up or if they cannot tolerate it however they are comfortable)

Pain (Do you have any abdominal pain or discomfort?)

Look (for distention, etc)

Listen (all four quads, from RUQ to RLQ)

Feel (lightly palpate)

For WIIGS is that your 20 min check one? I have to come up with a good one for this.

Hey send me your e-mail address again, I got a grid from a guy who just passed in Syracuse with some really good mneumonics on it. I don't think I am going to use all them just how he has them I am trying to taper them a little so I can remember better.

Have you started Rob's videos yet?

No but i have started sheris and i think she is really great!!

I just got cpne fever this past week. Ijust started understanding the grid this past week. I am getting myself in gear, but its so hard. I am working so many hrs lately. I need to get a grip with careplans. I put in for NPEC, i checked off every single one. I would rather mpec but much further when so many are closer. I hear so many great things about mpec, I so hope I don't regret it. My date I put in for is Aug 5. Now Its full swing cpne:uhoh3:

I test the weekend of July 29th at Southern Regional. I got my dates fairly quickly; declined the first date at Grady which would have been the last of this month. I'm starting to make sense of everything since reading the SG about 5-6 times, enrolling in Sheri's online workshop and purchasing Rob's videos.
