Wow, the past two days of the Trauma Nursing Core Course (Provider) was no cake walk. This was my first TNCC. I have taken BLS, ACLS, PALS in the past [and current on all three], but seems to me the TNCC is the toughest. I did do well with a 92 on multiple choice exam, and passed all three skill stations. Maybe part of the challenge is R/T I'm not an ER nurse, rather an ICU nurse. However, the Army Nurse Corps wants both their ER & ICU nurses to complete the TNCC Provider course.
BTW, the 19.1 CE contact hours was nice, too.

Congrats! It is harder than the other cert courses, but it's still way easier than when I tried it years ago. I missed one thing......ONE.......at one skills station and flunked the whole thing. This time around, if you missed something big the tester prompted us...."Are you sure you're not missing something?"

Congratulations!
I've never taken it - I do have my MICN and have taken an ER Nursing course. Maybe I should do TNCC too.
Fortunately, we rarely have traumas.

Congrats, sir! I agree...it was pretty rough :)
All OBC/OBLC RNs go through TNCC during their track phase. With nearly all of us being brand-new grads, they had to baby-step us through parts of it. Everyone in my class survived (passed) though. Whew!

Congratulations on passing your TNCC course. I took it a few months ago and the instructors take it most seriously, more so than other classes I have taken. You will find it helpful.

Congrats. I have done TNCC in the past - as a challenge course at the ENA convention.
In IL, we have this TNS - Trauma Nurse Specialist which is actually a license from the state BON! It is a three week, master's level course that is required at many hospitals. Its a real bear.
Have you done CEN? That isn't too bad if you have a couple of years experience in a level one.

I sure appreciate all the kind words from everybody. :)
TraumaRUs - I don't have any plans to take the CEN. However, I will take the CCRN.
Thanks!

Congrats. TNCC is hard, but gives you great assessment skills. I just finished ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) Friday and I thought it was really good, too. It is set up just about like TNCC and the test in the end is very much the same as in TNCC. That makes ENPC a good class to take right after you take TNCC.
