I just finished my ccrn exam and i passed first time ever taking that test.I took my cen exam dec 2010 after 2 year exp in er and i passed the first time alsoI have never touched and no actual hands on experience with an iabp, pulm artery cath, icp monitoring, but i guess i proved that you dont need any to pass this test as long as you have good critical thinkng skills and the ideas behind those monitoring system.I thInk the next step is to get into critical care transporting and get the ctrn along the way.Good job to me! *pads own back* =P

Which was more difficult? Ever since i started working as an RN, ive always said that i cant work in the icu because the "caring" required to work in the icu is different when compared to the ERWhen i saw my grades for the CCRN test, i aced every single section of the test with multiple 100s... BUT i failed the "professional caring and ethical practices". That just put a smile on my face hahaJust because i failed that part of the ccrn exam, i would have to say that it is "harder". Other than that, they were equally Difficult i guessNow i have my eyes on becoming an EMT/paramedic to get intO transporting, possibly getting the CTRN and CFRN certs

OP, I think its great you on passed those exams, however maybe I am ignorant but I am having a hard time seeing what direction you're headed in. CEN, CCRN, CTRN, CFRN, EMT, Paramedic.

I am interested in getting into critical care transporting, with flight nursing as the end of the lineI see it as between the ER and ICU, but dealing with only one patient at a timeNow that im certified in ER and ICU, it looks good. Now ill probably work on the transporting certifications (CTRN/CFRN)All these extra letters also look good on my id haha
