mandatory flu shot

Nurses COVID

Published

More and more hospitals are making the flu shot mandatory. Seasoned nurses are being threatened to lose their jobs if they do not take it or they are forced to wear a mask while doing patient care for the entire flu season. Is this a violation of HIPPA. Patients will know that that nurse has not had a flu shot when they see the mask. Do you think that the flu shot should be mandatory or should nurses have the right to refuse just like the patients have a right to refuse?

Crap.

Crap.

I know, right?

on the topic of religion...I am extremely against mocking people for their religious beliefs. (My religion does allow vaccinations but is considered "weird" in other ways by much of society, and the culture of disrespect just gets really old really fast.) I admire people who stay true to their beliefs/convictions in a world that makes it clear you're a nuisance for doing anything but conforming.

I hope if a poster came on here and said they practice Christian Science and aren't getting the vaccination because it goes against their beliefs, they would receive the same respect as if a patient said it.

No one has done that yet, so I would say it's a moot point.

Thank you for not saying "mute point." I've seen that 3 times today (not on AN though). :geek:
