Dialysis? Worth it?

Is it worth it to attempt to get a dialysis job as an lpn? What is the outlook for the position? How much could I expect in the PA and then Salinas area of CA in the future? Thanks!

Currently no, I know fresenius does not use LPN's anymore the one I used to work with they made her come out to he floor and basically work as pct. davita on the other ham I believe they still use LPN's I'm not sure. It's best in my opinion to go back to school to get your RN. Good luck to you :)

Davita still have and hire LPNs, they are required to have one RN on the floor and the other nurses can be LPNs. the clinic I work for has one RN and one LPN each shift. I don't think LPNs are going anywhere in this company, because its less expensive to have one RN and one LPN vs two RNs etc. Not sure about the pay for LPN in that area. I'm a Dialysis RN in Georgia.

Yes, Non-profits are worth it, Davita and Fresenius are not.

Depends on the state for is LPN is worth it. However as others have said go back and get your RN in both of the big 2 there is alot of opportunity with an RN. Fresenius more so than Davita. Both of them have special tuition reimbursement for getting your ADN or BSN (If you have no ASN)
