UConn CEIN/BS 2017

U.S.A. Connecticut

Hi all,

I saw a great thread from last year about UConn's 2016 CEIN/BS applicant pool and thought I'd start a new thread for applicants in the 2017 cycle.

I applied for the January 31st deadline. Based on everything I read on last year's thread, I'm thinking I'll hear back anytime between the first week of March and the last week of April - trying to stay patient! I am still working on 2 prerequisite courses but they should be done at the end of March. We'll see how the outstanding courses may affect my decision date. Stamford is my first choice for campus since I currently live/work in NYC and it's not too far away from where I currently am.

I'm excited to hear from anyone else applying to the program and what your application experience is like. Good luck to everyone!

Congrats Mandii! Dont forget to join the fbook group. You can search uconn cein 2017!

Hi everyone! I was accepted into the Stamford campus I was curious how I get on to that FB page I couldn't find it when I searched it!

Thanks,

Amanda

How do I find it! I searched that and it didn't come up!

Hello:) I am currently wait listed...so I was wondering do you by chance know how many people they got through with the waiting list for your year?

Hi!

I have a prereq question about the CEIN program. I have all but one pre-req complete. I have been planning to take this over the summer or in the fall.

Will my application still be evaluated with one outstanding pre-req? I thought it would be, but I saw a comment that made me question whether or not that was true.

Thanks!

yeah an outstanding pre req is fine. i would probably take it in the summer, though, and not the fall.

Hi guys,

I am planning to apply for 2018 and was wondering how popular Avery Point is? As well, if I get in Avare Point were my clinical sites will be located.

JCabs2017 I am planning to apply for round 2 as well, I will have Genetics left. I read all treads and as I see a lot of applicants had one prereq left when they applied.

Another question, can somebody explain steps and details of the financials. What has to be paid at the beginning, what help is out there and does school assist with referral for loans and other financial aid? I assume we can't expect financial aid to pay for it as it is a second degree.

Thank you!

AP fills up the slowest, Storrs fills up the fastest. Clinical sites are supposed to be near the campus/where you live, but that's not always the case. Be prepared to drive an hour away for clinical. The school assigns you your clinical placement as well, you don't choose. You can get financial aid, but it's not a lot. UConn has a financial aid office that can help you out. In the beginning you pay a $500 deposit that goes towards your first semester tuition.

Hello guys, about how long after the closing date on the applications did you find out if you got in or not? My application went into the Jan application process and the anticipation is killing me!!!

There is new thread for 2018 started if you interested. Some people already got accepted https://allnurses.com/connecticut-nursing/uconn-cein-bs-1095221.html

I know this is a year late, but I wondered if your denial letter told you why? I am just wondering if you apply for June and it is something you could correct for the August deadline, are you given that opportunity? Thanks!
