Very happy:D, I just got accepted into the March 9th LPN course at lincoln tech. Just wondering if any other users are attending that course?:typing or any grads that have any advice. It would be appreciated!:wink2:
I'm currently going to Lincoln Tech...it is very expensive, and yes for the most part self-taught. Since they accept pretty much everyone who can cough up the money, you have to deal with a lot of ridiculous people who have no business being in nursing, but a lot of them get weeded out quickly...it's not the best program in the world, but as long as I can sit for my NCLEX-PN (and pass!) I can deal with it. I just keep telling myself "it's only 15 months..."
Any other questions feel free to PM me!
They give the students up to 3 times. If they do not pass on the third attempt then they have to repeat the last two modules. The good thing is that they will let you know what section you are weak in. (e.g. maternity, pharmacology etc) so at least the person will know where to focus on.
Hi Guys .. I'm set to take the entrance exam for Lincoln Tech tomorrow and am kinda scared now after ready these posts!! To be honest, I was a little hesitant about the school to begin with, but figured I'd give it a shot as ultimately it seemed the most convienent for my situation - working FT, and not wanting to spend the next 14 years in school!! :nuke: .. I can deal with the self teaching concept - not my favorite idea especially for the amount of money, but what troubles me is the fact that any and all can get in to the class. Is it more about the collecting the money than providing an education??

There is some general info on these boards about Lincoln Tech - mostly that it is extremely expensive and someone also said that alot of it is self-taught. Hopefully someone who is in the program now will give us some good info!
