BHSN: Applying to Bridgeport Hosp for Fall 2013

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

Hi All,

I thought I would start a new topic for those of us who are planning to apply to BHSN's Nursing program for the Fall 2013.

I will get things started with my stats (which aren't great...but not too terrible!):

TEAS - 78% (planning to re-take)

GPA - 3.2 (currently)

I also applied to GWCC and Southern, so hopefully I will get into one of these programs!

I'm in the same boat! I think I am more anxious about this OP than I was waiting for my acceptance letter. Hoping it arrives Monday.......

I finally recieved mine on Saturday and my orientation is in little over two weeks. The packet did overwhelm me a bit but I'm glad I can finally see some progress. I've been waiting for this since February.

Oh another thing that is good to know in advance (for those who didn't get the OP yet) is that we need a CPR for Healthcare Providers done before August, if Im not mistaken. I dont have the OP here with me right now, so I cant write down the details for you guys... but they offer it at the Bridg Hospital (thru American Heart Association) $90 and Red Cross also have it for $110.

I still have yet to receive my packet! What do I need to have completed for orientation? Or ASAP? Do I need immunizations/physical paperwork then or not until August? Thanks so much guys!

Here is what I think you should do:

May 31 by vivinursingstudent You are welcome! :)

What you could do, if you want to start taking care of things, is to make an appointment with your physician, because there are 2 forms that he/she will need to fill up for you. And also go to the website Welcome To: Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Health Care Background Screening and run you background check, which is due June 7.

Thought I would have received my OP today but nothing. :(

Maybe they're going in alphabetical order? LOL!

:)

So the physical and immunizations are due by june 7th? I have an apt in July... That would be ridiculous for them to expect us to have that submitted in 4 days when some of us haven't even received the paperwork requesting it yet.

H-Elizabeth: I think she meant the background check s due by June 7th!

Thanks KristenR ! Exactly!

Background June 7

Drug Screen has to be done between July 26 and August 16

Malpractice Insurance and CPR course by Aug 16

That is pretty much it. That is why I only told you guys about the things that "can't wait" for your OP to arrive.

Thanks guys! Very good!

My time slot is June 18, 9:30. Did anybody get times for next week?

I'm also going on June 18th for Orientation. My packet says 9:00 a.m. I wonder if times are skewed. I think it takes about 2 hours.
