But I learned a lot and I wouldn't take back the experience and all the things I have learned. I heard Swedish is great. Look into them. What's it like to work in any one of the HealthOne/HCA hospitals in the Denver area, such as Swedish Medical Center, Sky Ridge, Medical Center of Aurora etc? However, they have an excellent benefits package. I worked at Swedish briefly after leaving an Exempla hospital; the improved working conditions and IMO better management were worth the pay cut for me.

- Aug 13, '12 by msancheezeWhat is the management and administration like at Swedish right now? There seems to be a continual ebb and flow of RN vacancies and I question the turnover rate.
- Aug 25, '12 by Van425I work at an HCA hospital and I would not recommend it. I hear Healthone was better before HCA bought them. The health insurance is the worst of any hospital in the city. So even if your payscale ends up being the same as another hospital (which it probably won't) you'll shell out more for your monthly premiums, deductibles and out of pocket maximums. Maybe it's not a big deal because you are single, but once you have a husband or family it will bite you in the butt!

There seems to be a high turnover rate for experienced RNs in several of the specialty areas of Health One hospitals. The 2011(?) buyout by HCA and some administration/management changes may be a contributing factor.
