Just wanted to start a thread as there appears to be some from the past. Has anyone else applied for the August 2014 cohort? I would love to hear and keep in contact with other current applicants as well as those from the past.

Below is the program timeline for August 2014:

o March 28 - April 7: Positions posted

o May 12 - May 16: Select/notify applicants to interview

o June 9 - June 20: Interviews

o August 18: Start of program

For purposes of discussion:

o Are you from Colorado or planning on moving?

o Previous experience working in pediatrics?

o What units are you most interested in?

invictus513 I got your friend request but I am still not sure how to contact you directly. Anyway I was talking to a girl who is moving from Boulder to Golden. She is looking at a 7 bedroom apartment tomorrow. I am thinking of possibly moving in with her. I didn't know if you were at all interested. I think Golden is about 40 min w/o traffic so I don't know if that is to far away for you. If you think contacting me by email is easier my email is [email protected]

Hello fellow nurses! I am going to be moving into the area from California. I was hired to work on the 9th floor. Anyone else working there?

Also, for those of you that are familiar with the Aurora area, I was wondering if you had tips on the good neighborhoods to move into? I walked around the hospital and there was an area across from it that looked a little bit sketch, so I am looking for someone who can give me a little insight on that! I saw some of the previous messages and wanted to see if anyone had any more ideas. I am coming from Palo Alto, CA-- so I'd like to stick to a more suburban area.

Hey everyone! Congrats on all your new jobs!! I'm assuming you're all just starting now.. good luck! I am going to be graduating next May and will be in the same exact position as all of you. This is by far my fist pick as far as residency programs go. I've been hunting down all the forums for Children's Hospital Colorado but if any of you have any advice that would be so helpful! I'm in a BSN program, I have about a 3.6 GPA, have a little bit of volunteer work with kids here and there, just finishing up a summer tech job in a Level 3 NICU but was placed on an adult floor for my senior capstone. Does it sound like I might have a shot? What can I do during my last year to really stand out? Finally, I'm from out of state (Michigan), and I know no one in Colorado. I know you are all just starting out, but if you learn your unit lets students shadow, I'm more than serious enough to make a trip over and would LOVE to shadow one of you, especially NICU as that would be my fist choice :) Thanks so much!!!
