Do anyone know if there any medical assistant jobs in chicago for over nights? Do those over nights position really exist? Because i never heard of a medical assistant being able to work over nights?

I will be going to school for nursing. But during the day. I wanted to find a 3pm position for medical assistant. Do anyone no any suggestions im in chicago. Or nights!!

I am not sure night's would be ideal unless you have children or other day obligations. With a M.A. office's hours normally work 8-5 jobs. Is it possible to do a evening or Saturday RN program?

The only overnight MA jobs I can think of are unit secretary positions in hospitals. Most offer three 12-hour night shifts per week, but some offer five 8-hour night shifts per week.

If you go part time for a unit secretary position, that may mean anywhere from one to three 12 hour shifts. Or 8 hour shifts rotating 3p-11p, 11p-7a, 7a-3p varying by need. I will tell you this, working nights and going straight to class is a WICKED challenge. I worked as a PCT and tried that and did not fair too well in both grades and work performance. I should clarify; 7p-7a part time as a PCT on a 28 bed ICU that had everything except surgical/trauma patients with a maxed out census. Even when I worked part time as an ER Tech (nights) 7p-7a in a rural ER (6 bed ER, including a limited OB room to deliver the baby if necessary and then fly the mom and baby to the nearest regional facility or put them on an ambulance - it was a SMALL hospital with limited capabilities. Example: 1 MD, 1 RN, 1 ER Tech is the staff. Respiratory and Xray were in on-call rooms until paged, as well as the MD if the ER was empty) is taxing enough to be an issue with academics.. Kudos to you, what spirit! Sorry for the lengthy reply.

If you go PRN (as needed) that may or may not be good because it's not a stable schedule which can be stressful :(

Oh yes! I wish I did more research prior to getting that MA Diploma and RMA. I feel like that did not benefit me and that I should have gotten a PCT Certification or CNA since I'm working toward my BSN (early pre-nursing student). Some hospitals will hire MA's (ideally CMA or RMA) or Military Vets with medical experience and training for such positions. However, through experience and observations, I feel that MA's (including those who have formal certification; RMA/CMA) have a tough time getting on board as a PCT due to training and scope of practice that caters more toward physician offices and urgent care facilities.

No I don't think there are. Most ma positions are 8-5 Mon-Fri. And that's why I can't work as a ma while going to school :(

Yeah i know i kind of wasted money going to school to be one. But at least i got my prereqs for nursing so i guess it wasn't so much of a waste. But yeah i was just tired of being a CNA. But im not wasting money to take the MA boards if i cant find a job to work with. My schedule.
