It's no secret our hands spend more time in water than most professions. My hands are the driest and the most itchy they have ever been, no matter what I do. What works for the rest of you when it comes to raw, dry hands? I'm currently using cocoa butter lotion, Lubriderm, and Working Hands.

Ouch - sounds painful. For me, I try not to use the alcohol based hand sanitizer. Instead I wash my hands frequently. For me thats what works. I do use hand sanitizer but try to use it sparingly - a little goes a long way.

I live on the East coast so with the very cold weather I ALWAYS wear gloves when I go outside, even just out to the car.

It seems to help.

I also use petroleum jelly on my hands instead of lotion.

Shea Moisture's raw Shea butter lotion does the trick for me. It's very thick so a little goes a long way. If my hands get dry to the point of cracking, I use bacitracin on them until they heal.

I had some very dry hands last winter. I put vasoline on hands being very generous. And then put some gloves like latex and then some cotton over top of that. Wake up wash it off. And feel how soft your hands are. Do this weekly and your hands will not be dry anymore. Do this at night while you sleep.
