Going to be challenging the state certification skills test for 2nd time

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

I seriously need to study. I took my training course back in 08 and never got around to taking the skills test. I took it in October but failed because of a change that was made earlier this year. If it were not for this change that I was not aware of, I would have passed. So now, on the 10th of Jan, I'm trying again. I'm applying for a job at a job fair this Sunday at a brand new assisted living facility right down the street from my house. I'm hoping that they will at least hire me as an activities aide for now, and then let me transfer to a CNA position when I am certified. I am very comfortable working in LTC or assisted living... I loved working in the nursing home for my clinicals. I am also on the path to applying for an LPN program and eventually heading to RN. Anyone else on the same path as me?

Hi,

I am currently working as a CNA at a LTC facility that I did my clinicals in. I have not yet taken my state boards, but I was hired on my last day of clinicals. I am going to be taking my state test on February 15th. I am also going for my RN and have recently decided I will probably do LVN first. I bet the place you are applying to will hire you as a CNA because you have had your training and have your test date set up, mine did!

Good luck to both of you!!
