CNA to HHA for home care!!

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Hi everyone ,I will have a job in a LTC every other weekend and now I'm starting looking for some home care during the week . And no agency will hire me without HHA Cert . At least that's what I've told by two or three agencies that I've had applied already . I do have my cna training but when I try to apply they ask for my hha cert. I do not want to spend more in the cna to hha classes kinda $200 more here in Jersey. Does anybody knows here in the north jersey area any good home care agencies that hires CNA'S . Thanks in advanced.

Suggest you call before visiting the employer. Ask if they provide the HHA training. Save up the tuition for the HHA certificate. BTW, the agencies in my area hire both CNA/HHA to fill their home care requirements; those agencies are just being snooty with you.

Thanks I'm calling before now

I've never heard of a home care agency NOT hiring an CNA for a HHA position....In all the states I've lived in a CNA is considered a step beyond HHA.

I say, keep looking!
