Specializes in Nursing Assistant.

hey guys and gals, i need some advice. i have an interview coming up for a position that i really really want. i haven't interviewed in quite awhile, and i'm a little nervous. but my question is this: after the interview, is it going over the top to send a small "thank-you" card to the person conducting the interview? i was always brought up to send these notes for anything, but it seems like it's an outdated fad (and i'm only in my 20's). any help would be appreciated!

No it's not over the top at all! Definitely send that thank you note after your interview. Employers look very highly upon people who send thank you notes. So definitely send one. ;) Good luck!

Specializes in LTC.

Definately send it. It lets them know that you are really interested in the positon.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I would send it, when I interiviewed for my job that I have now, I emailed a thank-you note to her. I only emailed because she stressed that she can be reached by email

Specializes in Nursing Professional Development.

Courtesy is not just a passing fad. It's been around for centuries and is likely here to stay. While there will always be those who choose not to do the polite thing, those who do choose to be polite will usually be appreciated by those on the receiving end.

I sent a thank-you by e-mail the last time I had an interview. I think it's always good to show that you appreciate their time. Good luck with the interview!
