[color=#333333]hello there!

i will be attending the online university working toward my bsn starting september 3rd. anyone else joining for that group as well? i am hoping that i will commit myself to this college (i've dropped out of kaplan and keiser online bsn programs) so i have got to quit throwing money away. i am pretty excited to start back with classes and i will not drop out this time. i am determined to get my bsn before "they" make it where nurses have to have a bachelor's in order to work as a nurse. okay, end story. (: looking foward to meeting you guys.

SGM228, did you try calling tech help? I had a problem with my name being incorrect on Saturday. They were able to contact someone to get it fixed by that night. Which courses are you taking?

Hi GadgitGurl,

Yes I spoke to tech support but they told me there was not anything they could do. They said I had to speak to my advisor since there is an issue with the actual class I'm registered for. Since its Labor day, they are not in the office. I'm just hoping that once I get in touch with them tomorrow, they can solve the issue and still allow me to take the second course.

I'm enrolled in the Transition in Professional Nursing course and was supposed to be enrolled in the Vietnam history course.

I am from California, born and raised as well. Currently in Orange County...

Very cool. I will be up in OC visiting the brew festival this weekend as a DD. :)

The Transitions course is pretty easy. I already have next week's assignment completed except for the discussion posts. Let me know how you like the Vietnam history course.

I just finished transitions in nursing and cultural diversity. As long as you stay on top of weekly assignments it is ok. I work full time as well, but it is doable. This time I am taking nursing informatics and science fiction. Lots of writing!

What is Science Fiction? A writing course?

I'm in science fiction right now; it counts as a sociology elective. Like all the Devry courses it is time consuming, but very doable. So far I've been enjoying it!

The Vietnam course hasn't been bad! Well, actually, the only thing bad is that it is a lot of work and reading. But as we know, it will be like that for all the courses. So thats understandable. I am surprised at how much work I've actually had to put into the two classes each day. The transitions class is easy, its just that since they want us to cite from outside sources, you spend lots of time trying to create discussions while incorporating outside sources. But the discussions are not difficult. The Vietnam course has been interesting and the discussions are all tied around the textbook. But I feel like I'm writing mini essays for each discussion! The information is all there though, so that's what makes it preferable. As long as you're reading, you will be fine. There is a small 2-3 page paper due every week for Vietnam, on top of all the discussions though. But I was told that some of the other history classes actually require even more writing. So I am satisfied with the course so far.

I'm in post 1945 history, it's the LAST GE I have left to complete for the program. I am HATING it. It's not so much the writing that bothers me as the material. I find history to be rather drab and boring, so I am just not interested in it. We have two discussions due every week, a 10 page final project, a mid term, a final and then two case studies that are 400 words each throughout the course. I am glad we are in week 3 and near the half way point. I can't wait to put this class behind me.
